About me

Everything is better with a tan!
Hi!
My name is Jacqueline (Jackie) and I live in Mels with my husband and our two dogs. We've lived in Texas for the last 5 years. I've had the opportunity to work in one of Austin's coolest Spas, where I learned all about Spray Tanning. Now I would like to pursue my passion and pass this great glow on to those who are interested. I look forward to pampering you with a natural tan soon!

Questions about Spray Tanning
How does it work?
Your body will be sprayed with a natural color containing a certain percentage of DHA (DiHydroxyAcetone). This is a colorless sugar that reacts with amino acids in the dead layers of your skin and darkens over a period of a few hours.
Is Spray Tanning harmful to me?
DHA has been approved for cosmetic use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Canadian Department of Health and EU member states. It is well tolerated and non-carcinogenic. DHA-based sunless tanning has been recommended by the Skin Cancer Organization.
How long does the Spray Tan last?
Your body is constantly shedding dead skin cells. Therefore, the natural Sun Tan fades after a few days. The Spray Tan only affects the outer layer of skin. Again, if your skin cells shed naturally, the Spray Tan will fade. Your tan should last between 7-14 days, but commonly for 10 days. The tan will last longer if you exfoliate beforehand and apply sunscreen every day. Keep in mind that every person is different.
Can I get a Spray Tan while pregnant?
There is no medical evidence that the Spray Tan can affect pregnant women. I still recommend that you consult with your doctor prior to considering Spray Tan services.
Will the solution stain my clothes/linen?
No, anything that rubs off on your clothes and/or sheets is the cosmetic bronzer. This can be completely removed in one wash. However, I recommend that you wear dark, loose clothing when you come in for your Spray Tan appointment.

Prep and After-Care
Preparation
-
Make sure to exfoliate your entire body.
-
DO NOT use OIL-BASED PEELINGS/BODY LOTION 24 hours before.
-
DO NOT use DOVE PRODUCTS.
-
For EXTREMELY DRY SKIN, I recommend an oil-based salt/sugar scrub 36 - 48 hours before.
-
Depilate 24 hours beforehand to ensure your pores close.
-
Avoid applying makeup and deodorant prior to tanning as it will prevent the dye from penetrating the skin.
What should I wear?
-
Wear dark, loose-fitted clothing. If possible, avoid wearing tight underwear, socks, shoes, or other clothing that could rub the solution off.
-
Wear a dark bikini or underwear. You can also get a tan completely without your clothing.
After-Care
-
Avoid activities that make you sweat or rub your clothes against your skin for at least 8 - 12 hours.
-
You should not bathe or swim for 8 - 12 hours. I recommend waiting at least 16 hours before using soap.
-
Do not apply any body lotion for 16 hours immediately after the treatment, however, after 16 hours it is safe to apply daily.
-
My colors do not offer sun protection.
